Job Posting - Application Performance Engineer

What You Will Be Doing:

- Application performance test design and evaluation including:
- Incident analysis
- Application production monitoring.
- Test the reliability, performance and stability of complex multi-tier and service based applications
- Evaluate the results of the test to determine constraints in the infrastructure
- Develop and maintain synthetic application monitoring for client-server applications
- Evaluate submitted use cases and develop scripts which interact with the client's standard desktop environment

What You Need for this Position:

3+ years of experience and knowledge with

- Server performance metrics for: Windows Server, Redhat Linux
- Performance metrics and concepts (threading, container and database pools, diagnosing memory leaks)
- SQL database concepts for platforms including Oracle and MySQL
- Basic network concepts and diagnostic tools including network tracing tools such as WireShark
- Basic concepts of web protocols, markup languages, and web service protocols
- Scripting using BASH

Familiarity with the following tools is a plus, but not required:

- SNMP
- Netflow
- Riverbed RPM (OPNET)
- ExtraHop
- SaaS
